What is ICD ?

An ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) is a device similar to a pacemaker but with additional capabilities to treat life-threatening arrhythmias. It monitors the heart’s rhythm and delivers shocks to restore a normal rhythm if it detects dangerously fast or chaotic heartbeats.

What is Pacemaker?

A pacemaker is a small, battery-operated device implanted under the skin, usually near the collarbone, to help regulate abnormal heart rhythms. It sends electrical impulses to the heart to ensure it beats at a normal rate and rhythm.

What is CRT?

CRT (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy) is a treatment for heart failure that uses a specialized pacemaker (CRT device) to improve the timing of the heart’s contractions. This therapy helps the heart pump more efficiently by synchronizing the contractions of the left and right ventricles.
